6.8 spc

Post by cjohnson3006 » Sun Jan 09, 2011 6:29 pm

Can anyone give me load data for a 6.8 spc for my ar? I have been shooting Springfield Armory ammo and have 160 empty cases to load. I purchased some Barnes 95gr. TTSX bullets from MidwayUsa but the only load data I can find on Barnes' website is for heavier bullets. Some of the other data I have found lists large rifle primers but all my brass is small rifle. Any help willbe greatly appreciated.

All information in Barnes Reloading Manual 4 is for heavier bullets. Why don't you try and exchange the bullets you got for the 110 grn bullets. Or wait for their 5th edition to come out and hope it has data for your bullets. Sorry I'm not more help...

I considered that myself. I emailed Barnes twice and have yet to hear back. May just return them and get some Hornady or Noslers. I have never used Barnes bullets and just thought I'd give them a whirl. CJ

I have the latest Nosler reloading manual and they have no data for the 6.8 spc at all. What are you intending to shoot at? The Barnes TTSX is a high end hunting bullet imo. I would look into shooting either Hornady or Sierra bullets especially if your not hunting any big game. A good site to find some loading infor is the Hogdon powder site and it is free. Hope this helps.

I had emailed Chris Hodgdon as well yesterday and he replied today. He gave me all info I needed. Thanks for all the replies. CJ
