clueless about caliber

Post by maintguy47 » Fri Nov 22, 2013 9:39 pm

My aunt left me her Colt .357 mag revolver. The rounds in the chamber are stamped 38special. the box of rounds in the case with the gun are stamped .357 mag. Please don't laugh to hard but is it a 38cal pistol. What rounds can I use in it. I'm better than average with the weapons I use. Would like to make this one my main sqeeze just don't know much about the caliber.

The 357 Mag. is a longer version of the 38 round and you can shoot either out of your pistol without any problems. Some people like the 357 for that vary reason of being able tochoose from a wide choises of rounds to shoot. Be warned though that the 357 rounds will have some BARK to them when shooting them.

Trust me we learned the hard way when my friend picked his up and we went to shoot it.
