Re: Montana Elk
Killer, Archery for Montana Elk is Sept 3-Oct 16
My either sex rifle Elk is good Oct 22-Nov 27.
One of the great things about Montana is a long season.
I'll be there the opener for a few days, then early Nov then again the week before Thanksgiving.
Deer season dates are the same, I have a either sex/species state wide deer license also.
My thoughts are to go for antlers BIG antlers both deer and elk.
I'm planning on a day to day journal of my adventures to share. Lots of pics too!

Wayne. CONGRATS. Patience pays off. I hunt Montana every year I draw ( three out of the last 4) and start dreaming about the trip about 3 weeks out. Am not familiar with your area, but generally speaking, if it's limited, it's good. We just finalized a lease on about 100,000 acres for the 2nd week of the season in the Crazies. Haven't seen it yet but have flown it on GOOGLE earth until my eyes started bleeding.
Good Luck
We'll compare notes when it's all said & done.
