Re: Complete Bullcrap...
well, this could get to be a long discussion but I will start by saying that landowners are still going to do what they need to do to manage herds in danger of being picked off one by one. Secondly (on the other side of the coin) how is a near 25% kill of the entire population a good number to manage a population going forward? Doesn't that sound like an awful lot of dead wolves if there are 2,000 total? This is the hottest debate north of Colorado and I dopubt it will ever be put to rest. I was in the northeast part of yellowstone (near the lamar valley) a few years back.. The locals said that elk hunting used to be so fun, big bulls, lots of them, good money coming in from those who wanted to hunt them and anymore it is almost not an indutry in comparison to years past... who knows. you can eat them, or can you?

unfortunatly i think we all knew it would happen
Re: Complete Bullcrap...
Hopefully local farmers will take some of the problem into their own hands as the wolves continue to take out livestock...
Nothing like the great outdoors!

I am pissed that this happened. We need to get the number back down to about half of where it is. This is sad thing for sportsman in our area.
I guess their is one bright spot in all this! We managed to get 106 of the dirty thieves in the 118 days they were off the list! That was without a hunting season in place! So, I guess I can see the other side saying, "well if we lose one a day with no season, how will the population remain stable if you add hunting on top of that.
