Unit 29 New Mexico

Bow Huning unit 29 this september, not sure what to expect, any pointers or hints would be helpful, not looking to jump on anyones spot, just an idea of something to try.

I have never hunted that unit. Have you ever hunted in unit 24 just wondered if you had any ideas if you have im not looking to jump your spot either.

no i sure havent im pretty new to the area, i no a little bout 34 but thats about it, what did you draw for 24

Unit 29 is very hard to hunt. i have hunted there for 20 years. you probaly need a topo map and know where you are. you can get lost easy if you dont know where you are. there are no towns close. and if you dont know the ranchers i wouldnt suggest you tresspass. but once you learn it is easy to hunt. i kill every year and i have killed some absolute bruisers. remeber it is tough terrain and rugged. and there is no cell phone reception out there. be prepared for the unexpected, such as flat tires. hunt hard and stay safe. good luck...

oh by the way dont waste your time in sept. you will be disapointed. go in jan. thats when the rut is.
