California x12 archery

Hello all, has anyone ever bow hunted the x12 region of California? And if so, can you give some tips of areas to hunt?

We got an x-12 tag last year...let me tell you the hunting was horrible. Saw a handful of does and one spike buck. We went to Bridgeport. I know alot of that area is hard to get into..so major 4x4 would probaly be good. Dress warm..it will be cold..possibly snow on the ground.

Good luck, wish I had better advice.
Whack um and stack um!!

Hunted it many times.......think highcounty, Hoover Wilderness, basins away from hiking trails, and you'll see some deer.
