Just got back from first bg hunt ...
...and filled my doe tag Processed it with the help of the friends I went with. I only have my camera phone pic, the rest are on my friend's camera.
CO, GMU28, 8:30am, little over 100yards in thick woods, through good clear avenue, slight down angle and great backstop. Deer stood still for just long enough for me to set up my sticks. Totally didn't expect to get anything being as I've only hunted squirrels before this. Turns out the advice I got to hunt squirrels with a scoped .22 to prepare was really good. I did feel prepared and it paid off.
Elk were high in the hills. When we found where they were, no one wanted to drag them out (except the keen noob) so without horses, ATVs or public access to roads, we didn't continue on to where they were. Next year maybe!
