Torch, I loved reading the story and seeing the pictures. Congratulations on an absolute beautiful buffalo.

That head is amazing to see in comparison to you. I can't imagine packing that out on your back.

Congrats Papa Torch!!!... CS

Torch, Congrats again to your Father! What a great story...I'm glad to hear that the experience was more important than the end product...I wish more folks thought the same way.

HOWEVER, the "end product" is nothing to be ashamed of either! Certainly a great trophy for any hunter.

Wow, what an experience for sure. Glad to hear and see your Dad is doing well. As for the story and pictures, I thought is was a bull until I finished reading the story. :)

Great story and thanks for sharing the hunt with us! Awesome job! :thumb

very cool! congrats to your father on his recovery first and a great trophy second. it is pretty fun sometimes to go hunting "the old fashion way" where the size isn't the most important part of the hunt, the experiance is! thanks for posting :thumb

How do you tell a bison is a trophy?

Shane,
Tell your dad congrats. By the looks of the surrounding vegetation (or lack of) I think I know about where you shot it. Extremely cool and I'm very happy for all of you. It is a neat hunt.

As for the question above..."how do you tell a bison is a trophy?".....when you finally draw a tag and one hits the ground after you shoot it.

You can tell when it's ten hours later and the hunter still has a smile that is ear to ear.

I always thought that if it makes you go HOLY CRAP! right when you first see it then it is a trophy to you and that is all that matters.

Congrat's!!!! Those are some really cool pics. I'm super jealous! My brothers putting in for bison and I'm trying to draw the moose in Utah. I can't believe the size of that bisons head. That must have been ridiculous tough to pack that much out all day!
