hard to say. these days with steel prices so high, it would be hard to find a rifle under 500.00 Man, good luck in your new buy. I can understand your dilema. I want to build a new rifle using Nesika Bay
, but its just about gotten to expensive to do.

another one would be a weatherby vangaurd. on sale i've seen it in to upper 300's. they still have a gaurantee [ spelling] of shooting under 1"groups. although not amazing, pretty good for an inexpensive rifle. and to top it off, you could get that in a 300. weatherby cal. and you can look for a long time to find a better round then that one.

Most Walmart package guns run less than 400.00 if you can find a Walmart that still sells guns( some do thankfully). Not bad for a decent 06 or 270 with scope.

The wal mart by my house sells guns, and I am looking at a reminton bolt action in 270 complete package. I just worry that the scope will not be that great. Should be alright as I wont shoot past 300 yards anyway.

Why : Lightweight, easy to clean, reliable, less than 600$, I have taken 4 elk and a mule deer with it.
Go with a Burris 3x9!!!
