Gone Hunting

Post by maintguy47 » Tue Nov 30, 2010 8:12 pm

Well I,m leaveing tomorrow for NM either sex elk muzzy hunt. Never hunted in snow before and I'll be up in the wilderness, no comunication. So far there calling for snow all four days of the hunt. But thats alright cuase along with my normal 50# pack I got 75lbs of hand warmers, three rolls of ducttape and a new fourwheeler to carry everything. the only draw back is when I get back I probably look like I got the mange from pulling off the tape. I'd like to say thanks for all the stories and pics it's the only thing thats keep me sane (half way) while waiting for this hunt and MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone if I get stuck up there.

Good luck!

And I'd much rather hunt in the snow than not. Makes finding fresh sign and tracking MUCH easier lol
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

good luck to you, have fun, be safe , and take alot of pictures!

Abert hit it on the head- if you haven't hunted snow before, remember - another GREAT option is finding and elk track that is fresh and following it. Many times you will go 500- 1000 yrds and find your animal. ( but many times it will be a couple miles to)

I cant wait to hear how it all plays out for you!
