New Idaho Muzzleloader Regs

Post by IdahoMuleyMan » Mon Mar 19, 2007 12:25 pm

Has any body noticed or care to comment on the 2007 Idaho Muzzeloader Regs??

Looks like I will be using my Lyman Plains Rifle more than I had originally planned.

I actually kind of like the changes...

here they are

"Muzzleloader Rules
Effective January 2007

Muzzleloader hunt rules require that weapons must:

Use all-lead bullets at least within 10/1,000 (.010) of the bore diameter.
Have open sights.
Use only loose black powder or loose synthetic black powder.
Have an exposed, pivoting hammer, either side-lock or in-line.
Have an exposed ignition using only flint, musket caps or percussion caps.
Be at least .45 caliber for deer, antelope or mountain lion.
Be at least .50 caliber for elk, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat or black bear.
Muzzleloader weapons that don’t meet these restrictions may be used in 'short range weapon' and 'any weapon' seasons."

so i take it my night disc rifle shooting a 209 shot shell primer is out.

not so sure i like that. my hawkin style muzz gun is always haveing hangfires and miss fires with those little percussion caps. I hope they don't do something like that here in utah.

what were the reasons behind the new regs. just curious.
