1st muzzleloader hunt

I got drawn for muzzleloader elk here in NM. This will be my first muzzleloader hunt and I am going to use a traditions deerhunter 54 caliber percussion muzzleloader. I was thinking of using one of the T/C maxi-ball, just not sure which one. What do you guys recommend the ball or the hunter? What about the buffalo bullets?

Try a few and see what shoots best in your gun. What area did you draw? I will be in 23 with ML this year.

I too will be in 23. I will be hunting the northern part of the unit. I hunted in there last year, second archery hunt. Saw some elk, not a lot though. What are you hunting?

I drew muzzleloader for bulls. I also will be there for first rifle chasing muleys.
