Nice!! Wish I could get out, but with all the latest snow fall, it is making it deeper and deeper. Up to about 3+ feet now.. too deep to shed hunt in. Warm weather to melt snow can't come fast enough! Getting the itch!!

Awesome! How many sheds do you usually find in a day/year?

Re: Should of brought a shovel
Depends on the year and the weather. Last year the snow melted fast and everything was so far spread out over the mountains it was hard to find them. I stopped counting at 150 last year
Found mostly singles. Depends on the area I go also, some areas its a armful everytime I go and others its far and few between but the bucks in those areas are the monsters like that last picture.
2 years ago I had been hiking for 6 hours didnt find a single shed and on the way back on my dirt bike seen something out of the corner of my eye. went flying down the road and decided to turn around to check it out just to ease my mind. Sure enough they were laying right next to eachother in the hay field.. 2nd biggest elk 6x6 set I have!

Wow! That is awesome!!! I have to move out west...I don't find many sheds around here....
Not a lot of public land compared to western states, so that gets picked over very fast. I need to find some more private land to look on It's still nice getting out even without finding a lot.
Do you look on private or public land or both?
