When do they shed??

Ok so I am fairly new to shed hunting and i LOVE it!!! Anyways im just wondering how soon it will be until they start dropping? I am assuming its different for elk than deer? Any input is appreciated :) ill even put up a pic of one i found last year

they usually start shedding in Colorado about January 15thish at the earliest and at the latest i would say late march early april. Hope this helped
