Finally! Success!

Post by firefighterbraun » Tue Apr 05, 2011 7:29 pm

Well after a long time pounding the hills and turning up only dinky little old 2 points, I finally had a weekend that I only saw pics of before. LOL This is my first real year shed hunting so trying to figure out where to go an how and where to look has been a whole new experience. It has been fun just being out in the mountains but it's always nice to find something! Also saw some sheep which was cool. Apparently from what I've heard is that these are the last 4 left out of the herd that the DWR tried to start but they ended up getting sick and died off. Also saw a tree that fell over and killed an elk.....not a bull though. Dangit...lol. Found a sweet 4 point set that has some cool webbing and trash going on it. Couln't belive my luck! Then found a big 4 point.....still looking for the other side! Enjoy the pics! And for those just strating out, don't give up! It'll pay off eventually! Here's proof!

Nothing beats a day of finding multiple sheds :thumb

It does suck about the sheep....and there are only 4 of them left....all ewes too so no chance of them making a comeback. Would have been cool to have a nice herd that close. Also that pic I took was from about 35 yds away......they didn't really even care that we were there.

Nice job Marcel! Easy on the background pics though... :) There's actually at least 14 head of sheep left. I counted 10 the other day, same group of 10 I've been seeing all winter. 6 of which are rams. 3 are pretty good rams too. At least 3/4 curl, so well on their way. Hopefully they can pull through! Nice work on the sheds!
