Sweet brown set and more...
Sweet brown set and more...
I was feeling some spring fever on Thursday afternoon and decided to hit one of my favorite spots after work instead of waiting for Saturday. Glad I did. I found this 5 point brown shed in the first 5 minutes and then looked for the match until dark.
I found another small 4 point brown but nothing else that day. Here are the two sheds side-by-side. I measured the big shed at about 80".- Attachments

That big 5 is AWESOME!
Re: Sweet brown set and more...
I went out again Friday night and found the match I was looking for about 1,000 feet from where the other one fell. This one measured about 77". It is by far my best set. I found a couple more sheds through the weekend including a dead head. What a weekend!

great looking sheds. I would like to see them put together if you get a chance.

Nice work!

Here they are together. The tiles are 16" squares. It is hard to guess exactly how the horns sat on the buck's head since I never saw this buck.

Congrats on a sweet set!
Re: Sweet brown set and more...
I finally got this set mounted up using Mountain Mike's Shed Spreader and a plaque. My wife doesn't like the European mounts but this was pretty easy to do. I have about 3 hours left in the year and can safely say my shed year is done. Final count 134 total sheds with 21 brown deer, 66 white deer, 13 brown elk, and 34 white elk. I only found 6 sets and all the rest were singles. 6 dead heads. Total of 283 miles on 66 trips and an average of 1 shed every 2.11 miles or 2 sheds per trip. It was a fun year and am already dreaming of springtime. Happy New Year and best wishes for lots of sheds in 2013!

Mount looks awesome, good grief I think I'm about 8 miles before I find a shed. I like your stats, heck of a year!
