First full day hike

Post by sactribe » Sat Mar 16, 2013 11:34 am

I hit one of my favorite spots yesterday and had a difficult 9 mile walk through snow and mud. Most of the area was still covered in 6" to 12" of snow with lots of elk tracks (and a small herd of elk). I was able to find some spots where the snow has melted and that is where I found the deer tracks and sheds. I found a white 4 point and then two fresh sheds, a smaller 3 point and a large 4 point with cheater. I was exhausted by the end of the day. I will probably wait another couple of weeks before I try there again.
