Maybe too early...

Post by sactribe » Sun Apr 28, 2013 10:27 pm

I hit my favorite elk spot yesterday and put in 12 miles up and down the mountain. Still a lot of snow on the north slopes but the south slopes have melted. I saw several grouse and a turkey and then just as I got into the area where I have found the highest concentration of sheds I spooked two bulls still carrying both sides. One was a 4 point and the other was a 5 point. I did find two fresh sheds in there; a 4 point and a 5 point. Perhaps if I waited a few more weeks my best spot would have been a little better but I still came out with 5 sheds on my pack. Photos also include my hike from last week. The chalky 2 point in the cactus is still sitting there. The 2nd photo is a strange looking large 2 point.

Sure not much left packing in Utah. Glad you found a couple fresh ones and yes the 2 point is cool/weird.
