Any body still hunt with a traditional

Post by Avs man » Thu Aug 02, 2007 10:26 pm

Im torn between my ol traditional hawkins and going out and getting a new in line.

I wish CO would make the muzzle loader season for traditionals only and then change the first rifle season to the inline season what does every one else think
I spend Half my money on Huntin, The rest I just waste!

I've got both a traditional and an inline. I can say without a doubt that the inline is a much better rifle in all areas, particularly cleaning.

That being said, I would love to see the muzzy season open to only traditional muzzys. At least you aren't allowed to put optics on a muzzy in CO.
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

My dad shoots a Hawkens and talked me into buying an in-line. But since he got a 1-28 twist barrel the only difference I see is the cleaning.

I have a Lyman Great Plains rifle in a flintlock and an Omega stainless thumhole both 50 cal. Quite a departure from one another but I do like them both and appreciate them for what they are.

If you are nostalgic like me you have to have a traditional in your stable. Nothing quite like a flash pan firing off.

I get really tired of all this talk about having a separate season for "traditional" muzzleloaders. You don't hear the bowhunter complaining about having a separate season for the longbow hunters. We need to stick together.
There's always next year
