Shooter-Why would you have to borrow it with the silencer? Is it illegal?

I don't know if the permit that my friend has for the silencer is transferable to allow the silencer to be posessed by anyone else. Silencer permits take about 6 months to get and are heavily regulated for good reason. The gun works fine without the silencer and is totally legal. I just don't know if I could take it to the range without the permit holder present. My guess is probably not. This is my first experience with a silencer and I always poo pood them, but I have to say that quiet rifles are pretty cool and fun to shoot. Maybe not fun enough to justify the money and trouble though.---shooter
