I shot this old boy in the Indianola area. He was 29 1/2 inches wide and scored around 180. This was a very lucky hunt. I had nothing going for me that day, my companion got sick, I bought the wrong shells and had 4 old reloads that were 5 years old. I had almost turned around to go home but decided to go up one hill. To my suprise two big bucks were bedded down right by me and as the sun came up they stood up and tried to get away. I used 3 out of my 4 shells ( I was shaking bad ) and finally brought the old boy down. Lesson learned you will never get a big buck if you don’t try even if the odds are against you.
