Re: My 2011 Archery Hunt
Thanks again everyone.
My second goal for the year was to get my brother his first ever Mule deer and we finally got that done this weekend. He isn't a monster by any means but still a great buck for a first.

Re: My 2011 Archery Hunt
Thanks everyone. He is my biggest buck to date and first ever P&Y deer. He was taken 3 weeks ago and I still can't stop smiling about it. He roughly scores 165 and has a 29" inside spread and 7" bases. I'm not a big score guy but my goal for the year was to take a big old mature buck. So goal comple...

My 2011 Archery Hunt
Hey, I haven't been on this site for a while but thought I would share my Archery 2011 Mule deer hunt with you guys. It was one of the most exciting hunts that I have ever been on. Through the beginning of my season I started off mostly just watching the deer moving around, trying to figure out thei...

Re: Spotting scope advice
I bought myself the vortex skyline 20-60x80ED scope and it does seem a little large for packing around the mountains. I bought it for spot and stalk hunts and wish it was a fair bit smaller. The picture quality is very good though. I have seen the Nikon prostaff scopes go in sale at camofire.com and...

Re: Got my buck back!
I too think you made a good choice on stripping the velvet. The mount looks great. Congrats on a awesome buck.

Re: Limbsaver Products
I don't have too much experience with most of the dampening products but have heard a bunch of good things about bowjax. They have split limb adapters and everything else you are looking for.

Re: What frame pack for hauling elk
If you don't mind me asking how much was that pack? I don't think we have a Cabellas in Canada yet but depending on the price I could be interested in getting one shipped up here. Thanks for the recommendations. It looks good. The one pack that I would love to get but don't know if I want to spend t...

Congrats on the great opportunity. One day I hope to be able to go sheep hunting of any kind. I would love to see pictures/read stories of your hunt.

Re: What frame pack for hauling elk
The one I saw had the padded sides that wrap around whatever you are packing and had the side metal brackets on the meat shelf. My only concern with the pack would be if those side supports on the meat shelf would get in the way if you were packing out a load wider than the shelf. Here is a picture ...
