Re: what type of daypacks does everybody prefer and whats in

I just got a Camelback Commander XT. Pretty comfy and seems to have a sturdy construction. I over pack but I'd rather have and not need instead of need and not have. I always carry a compass and map, stockingcap, extra pair of gloves, first aid kit, compression bandage, poncho, waterproof matches, s...

Maybe I missed it on a different thread, but have you contacted your taxidermist? I'm curious about the process/outcome just incase it ever happens to me.

Grunt Calls

Has anyone tried using grunt calls for Muley's? I applied for a late hunt in northern WA, and if drawn will be hunting somewhere between Nov. 10th and the 20th, right in the rut.

Thanks for any info good or bad.

Re: elavation effects?

I'll throw my 2cents into the fray. I sight in 2inches high at 100yards, around 700ft Elev. but hunt anywhere from 1500ft-6000ft. I have noticed no effect on my zero out to 400 yards (my maximum comfort zone). But as stated earlier when I'm at the range I have on think layers no matter the weather a...

Re: rangfinders?

I've got the ARC1000 and really like it. Easy to adjust settings, light weight and super accurate. I haven't had it out in bad weather yet so don't know about the durability in rain and snow. I really like that you can switch from "target mode" to "brush mode" with the touch of a button. In target m...

Re: whats a good bullet

When I get a new weapon I always head to the range with at least 3 different brands/styles of bullets. I shoot 2 3-shot groups with each brand/style at 100yards and which ever gets the best group is the one I use. My 700 .30-06 shot best with 180 grn partitions. My Dad's shot 180grn accubons best, e...

Thats just my personal preference.

Awesome, was beginning to think I was old fashioned, not that it matters. It also lasts forever, which is pretty cool.
