If it were me and you didn't want to go to Colorado I would first look at Idaho and possibly Wyoming. It will probably still be difficult to get away from the crowds though. What weapon are you willing to hunt with?

Here's the buck I took with my bow in Idaho this year with an unlimited tag. He's 15 1/4 long.
