Openine Morning 2010 Nevada Muley

Post by For The Love of It » Mon Aug 02, 2010 5:33 pm

August first was the opener to Nevada's archery season and my dad was fortunate enough to sneek to within 40 yards of this giant. I havent put a tape to him as we are being extremely careful with the velvet so feel free to guess his score. I also have an archery tag but missed a buck a little smaller as I was packing this guy out. Theres always next time though.

Wow!!! what a way to kick off the 2010 season on the Madness. Hope there are more bruisers like this to come. Congrats to your dad and good luck to you. My uneducated guess is 183.----------SS

I'd say he'd score in the mid to upper 160s Net and mid 170s Gross.. Great looking buck. Congrats. 10sign:

Congrats! That's a great looking buck! I'll guess he's around the 180" mark. 10sign:

What a beautiful looking velvet typical. Congratulations to the hunter on a terrific mule deer.

Score? Well, he's a trophy no matter what the number ends up. Having said that, his only weakness is short main beams & inside spread. Even with that, I'd put him netting in the low to mid 170's. Hope I see one like him in a few weeks, as I'll be after one like him in a heart beat. Thanks for sharing with us.
