Where have the deer gone in southern idaho?

To many tags?

To many lions?

To many coyotes?

Anybody have an idea?

Mule deer numbers are largely down across their range.

I hunted down by Malad a couple years ago and we had a hard time finding deer. I also know a few old timers from SE Idaho who talk about the good old days and show off the big heads on their walls while shaking their own heads about recent population trends.

Hunted near Stanley one year and a few years later later near Challis.I remember laying in my sleeping bag late at night and heard all kinds of howling. They weren't coyotes................
