When will they be fully grown?
So when will the deer and elks horns be grown in completely, I don't like to go scouting until I know for sure what they're gonna be.
"Built Ford Tough"--well that's just not tough enough.

about another 3-5 weeks or so is when the elk might be done, deer are right close to that as well.

5 weeks on deer, agreed.
Re: When will they be fully grown?
I've always wondered this as well. Saw a nice 3 point the other evening and wondered if it had a 4th hidden in there.
Given that it was a big snow year and winter was particularly harsh (winds, cold, longer snow as to keep food scarce) do these factors play into the time of year when bucks and bulls start to grow antlers or do they just start to grow at the same time each season?
Thx

Re: When will they be fully grown?
I've heard this several times also, although from experience in watching them a lot myself...I'm NOT a believer in this theory.I have always had people tell me they grow all the until season or when they rub there velvet off
Re: When will they be fully grown?
Once the blood flow stops to the velvet(when growth stops) they start to rub it off,so they coincide very closley.
Re: When will they be fully grown?
I think they really start slowing down their growth by mid-August but they are still growing a tiny bit( maybe just pushing out the pointed ends on the tines) up until they rub off.
There's always next year
