I took the little man shooting this weekend

Post by AGCHAWK » Tue Jan 25, 2011 11:20 am

Well, it such a nice weekend here in SE Washington that I couldn't pass it up. The little man, the wife, and I took the Marlin .22, Ruger 10/.22, the M&P AR-15/5.56 NATO, and my .243 out and expended over 1000 rounds. I took about 100 pictures but the first one below is my favorite.

Check out the concentration on the young man! He's 7 yrs old and only weighs about 43 pounds so the AR is still a bit on the heavy side for him. But, he didn't let that stop him...even after he "scoped" himself on his first two shots! He was pretty damned accurate out to 150 yrds too, hitting the target about 80% of the time.

He's getting stoked that he's almost big enough to actually hunt. However, he needs to get a bit bigger so that he can lug a rifle around and shoot on his own. He can shoot the .22s off-handed but anything bigger is still a little too heavy to make a steady shot.

If those pictures get into the hands of the any of the woodland critters they would move out of the state for fear of their future generations :) Looks like a great day.

I agree, that first pic is priceless!

But who is that goofy looking guy with the knit cap? lol
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

Love the pictures man! Take him to do everything, you won't regret it. The only bad part is when they grow up and leave home. But then you get to start over with Grand kids. fatrooster.
