Red creek ice fishing

Post by MULIES4EVER » Tue Jan 22, 2008 9:31 am

I took my daughter out to Red Creek resevoir on saturday. We caught several small rainbows that we released. We brought home 4 nice sized ones that were dinner. Sorry no pics because I seem to have lost my camera. :>/

Remember to those that want to release the fish they catch through the ice that it is best to keep the fish in the water in the ice hole and use a pair of needlenose pliers to release the hook. A fish that is flopping on the ice and handled has far less chance of surviving. Also pinch the barb down on the hook. :thumb
This leaves more fish alive and ready to catch next time.

Is this Red Creek reservoir in Duchesne County? I love that little reservoir. We always catch our limit in just an hour or so and that's not bad considering we have 2-3 people fishing every time. Better luck on that little reservoir than anywhere else in the state so far. I'll have to find a pic of the nice cutt i pulled out of there. Not the cutts like in strawberry, but an actual native cutt. Hindsight i should have put him back, but he was pretty tasty.
