Wyoming Antelope down

Post by DeadI » Sat Sep 17, 2011 9:01 am

My brother had a antelope tag for Wyoming this year. They went up yesterday and took this great looking goat last night. They said the only tape they had was a steel one but that it is at 15 1/2 inches with some gnarly points around the prongs.

Great looking goat, congrats to your brother 10sign:
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

Great looking goat. Now, where was it, what did he shoot it with, how far, details of the stalk and shot. Details man details. I can't go for another 3 weeks so I'm hunting vicariously through you guys and you're letting me down!

LOL. Sorry guys I am usually the one asking the same questions guess I should have known.

They were hunting unit 114 and this hunt is a private property / school trust land hunt. No BLM. They secured permission from a land owner and met him Friday afternoon after he showed them his property boundaries he turned them loose. It wasn't long after that that they found this beauty they were able to get with in 150 yards. He turned broadside and it was game over. Shot it with a Winchester feather weight 270.

They had a friend come over that is quite knowledgeable about antelope score and he taped it out at 80 5/8" not to bad.

They had and will be having it mounted, I will have to post pictures in a few months when they get it back. Hope that is enough for you, I was not there so I can not tell you much more than that.

Very Nice Antelope. Of course he has to go up on the wall. He will be a great mount that you can look at and remember the hunt for a very long time.
