Well we just got back this week from our first Wyoming antelope trip. It was a absolute blast and I highly recommended it for your family.

We drove strait through from Oregon 18 hours too our hunting unit. As soon as we hit the boarder for Wyoming you start seeing antelope everywhere. I think the long drive and thousands of goats was too much for my hunting buddy to take. Before we found a place to camp he shot his buck #-o I still say he is insane.

Three days later after looking at 50 bucks a day, I took this buck. He has 6" and 6.5" mass measurements with 7" prongs. Not very tall at a little over 13" but supper heavy and the best prongs I saw on the trip.

If you are looking for a high success, low pressure, fun, fun, hunt, you must go and hunt Wyoming antelope 10sign:
I can't wait to get my family back over and let them enjoy the success!

Sounds like a total blast, something I have not done yet but want to. You both took awesome looking bucks.

Looks like you had a blast :thumb

when we went it was the same way, makes you feel dumb for waiting 12+ years in Oregon for the chance to hunt something you could hunt every year in Wyoming, and it's pretty cheap to do!

great job on a couple great bucks!

Tyewire....you are right about this being a fun hunt. My family did the same thing last year and it had to be one of the best hunts we ever did. The weather is great for camping and you will see lots of antelope. The hardest part is NOT shooting one the first day! Even my folks, who are in their eighties, got nice bucks. They live in Oregon also and have 11 points there for antelope and probably will never draw. I'm glad they were able to go and be successful.

You guys did great. Nice bucks!

I know exactly what you are saying Big Moose! I also have 11 Points in Oregon waiting on a tag. Why would anyone want to wait when you can go and have a great hunt in Wyoming and have a month or more to do it!

I heard a crazy stat the other day that blew my mind. There are roughly 750,000 antelope, and almost 500,000 of them are in Wyoming!

We had Unit 68 tags. One was north of 287 and the other was South of 287.

Congrats on two nice goats... I think you may have convinced me to put a WY goat hunt on the to do list.
What does a non-res tag set a guy back these days?
