Newest Addition

Check out this beauty that I lucked into. It's a 1950 Winchester Model 70 action with a Shilen barrel and Canjar trigger chambered in 257 Roberts Improved. It has the original Bausch and. Lomb scope and mounts. The gun was built in 1979 and has not been fired since.

I picked it up and started the process of fire forming cases. I was shocked to put 20 shots into just over an inch. 15 of the 20 were in a half inch. I think this old dude has some potential.--------SS

Good looking Rig: those groups are from you form firing or after you formed fire

Throw a zeiss rapid z-800 and that's my dream rifle right there.

JDave,

I thought I would replace the glass but I have to say that the BalVar is pretty impressive for a 1970's vintage scope. Great clarity, fine crosshairs, decent eye box, and not bad parallax adjustment. I don't think I would ever build this particular rifle but I'm certainly glad it came my way at a price I couldn't resist. I've got some Berger 115 and JLK 108 bullets loaded in formed cases and ready for the range. Should be fun.-------SS

That's a pretty sweet find. And by the looks of it, it was worth it.
