2014 Rifle buck

Post by DeadI » Sun Nov 23, 2014 10:14 pm

Had a great deer hunt this year. Its been a busy fall so this took me a little to get to. I had a southern rifle deer tag this year. Tried out a new spot. I was able to take my two boys with me on this hunt and they loved it. This is the first time they have been with me on a successful hunt. The buck may not be the biggest on the mountain but it is one of the most memorable for me. The funny thing was that as soon as I shot this one the bigger one stepped out of the ravine and trotted off. I guess they don't get big for being stupid. Anyhow, enjoy the pic.

Kudos for bringing the boys along and having a successful hunt! And in a new area to boot!
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

Looks like a great family event/fun. Those kids will remember that for ever.

They'll never forget that hunt. I still remember the first time I was with my dad and he killed a deer. A little spike that he shot at 200 yards with a 30-30 /4 power scope. The thought of it being little never crossed my mind at all. That was 30 + years ago. (Crazy how time flies) but good for you taking them!

Looks like it was a blast. The kids won't forget that. I was 18 before I saw someone other than myself shoot a buck.

Since this is my first year deer hunting, jersey, is there any different ways I should try while bow hunting in winter bow, also do the deer act differently compare to the other parts of the season?
