Shed hunting trip Round #2

Post by MuleyMadness » Sat Apr 03, 2010 10:08 am

Well here is/are the results from my second trip of the year. Not much in the way of sheds but as you can see I still had a great time out...

4 highlights from the trip...

1. Check out the Owl couple I met. Anyone tell me which is the male vs. female? I honestly don't know. One is a lot lighter (more white than other).

2. Fresh Lion Kill, really fresh. Tracks from lion were very fresh, deer was killed very recently. (Doe) Found exactly where it was killed and then dragged down under
the tree and buried. Notice the claw marks where the lion dug in sand etc. to bury it. The broken brush where it was dragged. Lion tracks etc.
I stayed long enough for photos and drug the doe out for a photo (probably to long.) :)

3. Sweet arrowhead!

4. Small 4-point skull (16 1/2" wide baby)

That's all folks. 9.5 miles according to the pedometer. 23,000 steps I think?

That's pretty cool. With those dogs you shouldn't have to worry about that cat.
Live to hunt, hunt to live.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell
the difference.

Looks like a perfect arrowhead. Good find.
Now that's a fresh kill. Seems to be a lot of lion kills out there.
Like most birds of prey, the female is usually larger. But Woooooooo knows? ](*,)

Should have called me with the cat in the area Brett.. I have a tag and my friend is wanting to dry-run his dogs on one.
