Kind of makes me wonder what the guy was thinking... I mean what do you really think the end result will be by poaching a well known buck off a military installation? I hope that since it was taken illegally on a military installation that the guy really gets taken to the cleaners.
Such a magnificent animal, it truly is a shame.

The Sargent in the story that investigated the shooting is a friend of mine. I heard about the buck a while ago but was told not to mention it and see if anyone on here and other muley sites would post pics of the deer as thier trophy. The military is charging him with federal charges for terrorist actions as he snuck on to the instilation in a gilly suit (that he left after he shot the buck). At any rate I have more confidence in military punishemnt that state after hearing about the small fines other poachers have been getting.

It's a good thing that most of these people are rather stupid. They make it to where they pretty much get themselves caught by their actions.

I'm pretty certain he isn't worried about what the state may do to him. He really needs to be concerned with what the Feds will do. Illigeally entering a federal reservation, with a firearm. Dishcharging said firearm on said federal reservation. Removing (stealing) federal property from said federal reservation.

I wouldn't want to represent him in court and I truly hope that whatever he gets may deter others from ever thinking about poaching again. I would also hope the states (all of them) will finally give poachers what they truly deserve.

If your going to change the minds of poachers the state needs to step up to the plate and throw the book at them or they will never get it and continue to do it.the punishments need to be tough :thumb
