I'm sure its not what you are looking to hear but, I have killed two mule deer with just my smooth bore fixed choke model 12. I used rifled slugs at 60 an 80 yards. It worked like a dandy!

My first deer was an 18" tall two point. I think he was about 18" wide. I'm gonna go home and dig him out of the bone pile and take a pic.
