Chimney Rock CWMU Moose
My son was lucky enough to draw the Moose permit on Chimney Rock. It is east of the Henefer WMA. Has anyone spent any time up there? I am wondering about moose population in the area, not necessarily on the unit. There was one permit last year and the hunter was able to harvest a 3 1/2 year old bull...

Spike Hunt 2010
Sorry it has taken me a few days to post on my hunt. It was one of the more challenging hunts, both physically and emotionally, that I have ever experienced. I went out with the family and friends to the usual spot. Some people might think we are crazy because we never go spotting, but you need to u...

Re: Hunting Gps
I just bought the Garmin Rhino 130. the map program is the same one that DeadI uses and I have loved it so far. I think that the program is not as important as the user actually understanding how to use the GPS efficiently. A good map program is useless if you don't know how to use the GPS and navig...

Re: Best way to keep Antelope Cool?
last year on my wifes hunt we caped out the head and then put the meat and the head in 100 quart coolers that we had packed with block and crushed ice. We were able to keep the ice in the coolers for 3 days while she was hunting. If you cool the meat down fast it is quite tasty!

I agree you have got 30 miles of skyline to hunt!Loafer wrote:, Way to be specific, and if you don't find deer there try the mountains next.Goofy Elk wrote:Skyline drive,,,,,,and pick a canyon.
There are deer in all of them.
But you'll need to hike down in to get away from the road hunters......

I am a fan of the kings patterns. I use Mountain Shadow for most locations and desert shadow for the rest.
