Re: montana canvas wall tents

I just ordered a 12' X 14' this past fall and have had great luck so far. During our 10 day excursion this fall we had wind, rain and snow and no issues what so ever.

Re: Crane Down!

I have heard the saying "Ribeye of the Sky" but no recipe I have ever tried made them worth a darn. Does anybody have a recipe they wouldn't mind sharing?

Re: RIFLES+ME=CONFUSED.

I agree that the 270 would be an excellent choice. The good old 30-06 would be a great caliber to look at also. Both would be very easy to buy factory ammo for. The 30-06 would offer a little better bullet selection for factory ammo. You could not go wrong with either one in my opinion.

Re: walleye?

No you won't need a steel leader for walleye. I agree with the jig and minnow or crawler especially early in the year when the water is cooler. As the water temp increases you can start pulling bottom bouncers and spinners or a plain snell and a crawler or a leech. Casting or trolling crankbaits can...

Re: Good luck Turkey Hunters!!!

Nothing this weekend for me either. Unfortunately the wind blew hard all weekend long and turkeys were very tight-lipped. Not a good combination. How is that for excuses? Oh well, can't wait to get back out there and give it another shot next weekend!

Re: spotting scope

Last year I upgraded spotting scopes to a Nikon Fieldscope III in 65mm. So far no complaints at all. I looked at the 82mm version too but it seemed a little too bulky for my daypack. I would have liked a Swarovski but the Nikon was priced right. Maybe someday.

Re: turkeys

I did not even think of the spurs way back when. Now I cut the spurs off big toms but they usually end up in jar along with some rattlesnake rattles and badger claws.

Re: turkeys

I have cleaned up 2 turkey fans in the past and both were fairly simple. I just cheated and bought the tail mounting kits. To cut off the tail just take a sharp knife and cut at the narrow area where the tail meets the lower back. Be sure to pluck out a handfull of extra feathers from the lower back...

Re: North Dakota Mule Deer

The first thing I would do is order a Little Missouri National Grasslands map. You should be able to order one online or pick one up at a local forest service office. They even have a cheesy map you can download for free that would show most of the roads and campgrounds.
