Re: A commedy of errors

Yup, I've learned #2 & 3 the hard way as well.

Was it the old G.I. Joe cartoon that said "Now you know, and knowing is half the battle"? Here's to a lesson learned & the next shot opportunity! :thumb

Re: Results of Utah Wildlife Board Mtg.

I tuned into Roughin' It Outdoors last night to get some more info/reaction since the host is a DWR employee (from what I understand). I could tell he was disappointed in the outcome just by his voice and body language. Disappointment seems to be the running theme with the decision by the WB.

Re: Preference Points

Great question, I'll be checking the thread to learn about how to accumulate points in other states, too. For Utah, the application period is Feb. 1 thru March 10, 2011 for preference/bonus points. The cost is $10 for application fee, but you also have to have a valid Utah Hunting license ($65) or C...

Re: Rebuttal to DWR newsletter,,,

I sense your frustration, I truley do, it's mine as well. It's about 50:50 frustration & sarcasm because I don't think any of us realize how drastic the measures would have to be to help the herd instead of attempting to mitigate it by micromanaging the hunting pressure. It's going to take the fail...

Re: would this help the deer

I have heard of private land owners performing prescribed burns on their property and getting good results.

Re: Back from the hunt

Clever use of the SUV, if I were to do that to the wife's Explorer... I'd be single. I just filled my antlerless tag as well & filled the freezer. :))

Re: Rebuttal to DWR newsletter,,,

I think we're to the point where ANY action is going to be better than staying in our current way of doing things. At least there is awareness now and some people out there willing to be the "squeaky wheel." Hopefully for my great grand children we get this thing figured out.

Finally figured it out... maybe

I've had my camera for three years now. I really didn't put too much thought into placement for the first few years, and got nothing useful because of it. I took a little more time this summer and learned quite a bit more about effective placement. After having it in the mountains for a couple weeks...
