Your meat bill at the Grocery Store must be about $6.83 per year for non game meat huh? :)

Bear Recipes

Anybody know of any good Bear recipes?

I've never been fond of bear, but I'm willing to try it again if I can come up with some good recipes.

Re: RIFLES+ME=CONFUSED.

I forgot to add: If it were me, and being that you don't have a lot of rifle trigger time, I'd get a .223 and shoot the heck out of it. You're already doing that with the .22LR, but now it may be time to step up a notch. The .223 can be used on coyotes, does very well as a poodle shooter, and ammo i...

Re: OR Cougar bills in front of House

You have provided a fine example of why game management shouldn't be left up to those raised on Disney films narrated by Rex Allen.

Coues Deer

Bear in mind, I have not hunted southern AZ since 1988, but it seems as if Coues Deer have taken over habitat that was once strictly Mulies. Am I incorrect in my thinking?

Re: RIFLES+ME=CONFUSED.

My advice, FWIW: Go with a .270 or a .308. Of those two, I like the .308, but that's just me. 30-06 is the traditional "do it all caliber" for North America but I'm finding that having a modest variety of calibers would be best, depending on what one hunts. I myself have a .22 LR, .223, .308, and to...

Southern AZ Mulies

What happened to all the southern AZ Mulies?

I'm seeing Coues Deer where Mulies used to be heavily populated. Bear in mind, I haven't hunted in AZ since 1988, but what the heck happened?
