I went to the Boone and Crocket web site and I'm not sure I found an answer; is a 6 point non- typical? I believe I read that it is. At any rate it got me to fooling around with a rack I have. If I get it figured out I'll let you know. Pretty much I have so far: tip to tip=11.25" greatest spread=19....

This is my first year calling coyotes, they've always been targets of opertuinty for me. Haven't called one into shooting range yetbut, I believe it's only a matter of time. As for knowledgeable, the anti that enters a site he know's nothing about only to cause a ruckus; ignor him. He gets what he w...

Couldn't agree with you more about cartridge selection. After everything is said and done and we've all chosen out cartridge of choice, the thing that does matter enter's the picture; bullet selection. Many years ago I used a Sako L61R in 7mm Rem Mag, I love the rifle and still think the 7mm Rem Mag...

Wymuley man, We have the draw sysyem in Oregon and I hate it! Two years in a row I didn't draw in my own area, 95% private land. Our nice deer are still here but we are over run with does. If you want quality, what you need, my opinion, is a four point or better law and shoot off some of the does! A...

Sammy, I've been hunting mule deer for about 25 yrs. I've never been on aguided hunt and never had a game animal measured. But here's an opinion any way. First, don't worry about it, if you have a good guide, he's not going to let you shoot a fork horn opening morning. Next, there are only four size...

Wymuleyman Just left another site where a question was asked in they forum,"what rifle for 400 to 500 yd mule deer hunting". It got some good well deserved reply's and a few that some actually had a suggestion. Sounds of your note, you know the answer, I wish more people did. Reminds me of the quest...

Hello Brett, I have hunted only Oregon for years. Many years ago, I hunted N.W. Montana a lot, I lived there. I no longer hunt the Willamette valley for Blacktails, I don't care for the very heavy cover or the rain. I think if the truth were known, I am more of a shooter than a hunter and the countr...

I love this site. It sounds like your not knowledgable on shooting period. Perhaps it's a typo but I don't believe Winchester chambers for the 300 Weatherby. Perhaps what you have is a Weatherby Vanguard in 300 Win Mag? Check that first. You won't be able to chamber a 300 Weatherby in a Wincherser c...
