Meat Processing
We have always butchered out own deer until this year. Unfortunately illness and schedules required that I take my deer to a butcher shop.
I was wondering how many of you process the meat yourselves and how many send it out to be done? Did it take a while to find someone who does a quality job?

Re: Newbie question/Help
If it's open/grassy country I usually try to focus towards the top of the grass. Try and pick out the horizontal curve of ears going against the vertical grain of the grass. The odd angles of antlers vs. the straight grass. If there is space below tree branches look for "sapplings that move", it'll ...

Re: FRESH lion killed buck
Thats amazing, too bad you didn't get a shot at the Kitty. Tree Killer, did you hunt near Conconully last week? We were watching the Seahawks game and grabbing lunch at the Tamarack and and I noticed a guy with Surveyors tape tied around his hat with "Tree Killer" written on it.

Dead coyote
This might be a dumb question but here goes it. What do you do with coyotes you shoot? I've never killed and animal I didn't eat. Learned that lesson the hard way when I was a kid and knocked off a stellars jay and my dad made me eat it. A few years ago a friend in a neighboring Elk camp got a couga...

Re: Wyoming Hunting - Round Limits
I would assume it's stated in the Wyoming fish and game laws. Washington State is 5 rounds total for Modern Firearms and 3 rounds total for shotgun.

Re: Hunter edicit question
I'm not sure what state you're in, but Washington State reg's say that the person whose shot kills the animal is the one who tags it. No if's ands or buts. The deer I got this year had been hit earlier in the morning but was still running flat out when I took him down. We didn't even realize he was ...
