Re: Favorite Bullet and Load
Since the factory ammo is almost always ISO9000 manufactured and it's so good now it's hardly worth my time and trouble to reload ( with my hands being bad from w.o.r.k) . Reloading does solve somewhat the current ammo shortage( yeah I hoard it too) . However I mostly use the original Winchester Sil...

The Southern Ute Reservation out of Ignacio usually has a contest for a free hunt or three but as I recall the ticket prices are like 50.00 or something. But if...

Re: 7mm vs. .270
I have both. Use both. Like both a lot for diff reasons. My 12# 7mm Rem Mag is set up for long range antelope 600+ yards, the ol 270 is for elk deer etc, a lightweight LH Sav 270 syn rifle equipped for hiking the high country...it weighs 7.2# with 2-7x32 Burris BDC scope.

Re: Hunts for 2009

Put in for first rifle (which is really a late like 3rd rifle) at 3Forks Ranch and three others on RFW draws just to accumulate points, but will probably have to do OTC bull when we dont draw fo...

Re: Lever Lovers
Keep the 7-30 and load some premium 140 BTSP bullets in it and stuff it full of powder. Most guys who want to hunt the west here ALREADY have the rifle they need.
