Deer hunter apparently killed by friend's shot
SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) - Authorities in northern Wisconsin say a deer hunter who was killed this week was apparently shot when his hunting buddy fired at a deer and missed.
The Douglas County sheriff's department identified the victim as 27-year-old Garrett M. Carr of Oliver.
Authorities say Carr was hunting Monday with 31-year-old Michael F. Thompson of Superior. Warden Dave Zebro says a preliminary investigation suggests that Thompson fired at a deer but the bullet hit Carr in the head.
