That's great, going out on public land and and scoring on a very good antelope. Can you share some of the hunt?

thanks all for the welcome

the hunt was last October, right near the end of the season.

I had been there (Weston County) during archery season, and went home with all my tags still intact (I had one buck tag, and 2 doe tags - I could have had 2 more doe tags, but 2 would be plenty)

A buddy and I went out on the Monday afternoon, and looked around for some pronghorn. We saw a few, but we also saw several nice mulies. I didn't have a deer tag. Several large herds of antelope were in an area where we were unsure of the ownership of some of the land. In the morning, we called to verify this was public land, and put on a couple of stalks. We each filled a doe tag (my first, his last). Then, after field dressing and carting them back to the truck, we found another herd. We belly crawled and inched our way into position. I waited for a buck with shorter but heavier horns to turn, but he always either had his tail toward us or another animal between us. Something spooked the herd a bit, and they began to move. When they came out from behind some rocks, I couldn't find the heavy horned buck. I sensed they were getting nervous, so I decided to take this taller (but thinner horned) buck. The shot was nothing difficult, just under 100 yards.
After the shot, the herd went behind more rocks. We followed, and I found him dead just a few yards from where I shot him. Then, looking back across a draw, some of the herd was watching. Since I had one more doe tag, I took a rest and picked one out. I shot her at 175 yards.
The total time from the first does down to the last doe down was a couple of hours.

My buck measured right at 15" - and the taxidermist said he should be shipping the mount this week or early next!
