Don't know San Juan that well myself, but do know that is one GREAT tag/hunt.
BlackTimber Outfitters is the real deal in Guiding that unit however.

I spent 11 days down there last year (my Dad, Brother and two Nephews all drew Archery Bull)
I will be spending atleast that back there this year, my boy drew.(Archery Bull)

a little scouting and you will be seeing bulls and they stick to their spots pretty good until pushed off the good area's.
Places to look
the Road to the top of the towers and the road that cuts arcross the Mtn to Blanding( like 25 miles or so) alot of elk on that big mountain, some nice ones north of town too peters point saw a couple out there the other night that look good.
Shay mountain is a good place to look too.

Was down that way last week saw some good looking bulls and bucks it's going to be a good year down that way for horns IMO. hope you have a great hunt down there.
