I used a 338 win mag, 3 shots to the neck and 1 double lung that was not needed at the end but the was no blooded in the lungs when we guted him.

Holy bison - that's a lot of meat. It fills up the bed of that truck nicely. It's amazing how big the melon is on that big brute. Congrats!

Muzzy, I saw close to 20 shootable bulls before I picked him, It real hard to size up Bison. I was about 600 to 800 yrds from him and he was alone I thought. I almost did not take him because the tips of the horns were pointed and not broomed off but the mass was good for a long ways up.

Great bull,looks like a fun hunt,my coworker drew a Jan bison tag for West Yellowstone so ill be along in the DEEP snow for that 1/
