I was wondering if anyone here has been doing any scouting in this area, maybe by fruitland and that general area, i am just wondering what it is going to look like this year for the rifle hunt :2 . I am living in Mnnesota until September so thats why im not out scouting my self right now. Also any tips on places to go, I like to hike and dont like to be with alot of people
So any info is welcome thanks. P.S. This is a great site

I went out to cow hollow, which is down red river road just past fruitland. The place was actually on fire. I saw one buck with the smallest antlers I have ever seen. Really did not see anything that looked to hot. I am now going to go hunt out near hanna. There are a lot of hunters that will be out near strawberry, but there are also a ton of deer.
If you're not bleeding you are not having fun.

Strawberry area is getting WAY over hunted. Was up there yesterday fishing and could not see the forest for the bow hunters all crammed in there. Vernal/roosevelt area has had some NICE looking bucks as well as the scrub cedars in Duchene. Got off the track in Duchene and saw some REALLY nice bucks I plan on going back for.

I spend a fair amount of time in the NE region and have seen more deer and bigger bucks in the past few years than I have for quite some time.
