Okay, more on my hunt in the Utah Central Region: A good friend and I had been scouting up high a few times before the season and found a group of four bucks; two fours and two smaller bucks. On one of these scouting trips while glassing these bucks one of the four points and a smaller buck were sparring all over, pretty cool to watch. Well after getting these bucks patterned and glassing them again on the Friday before the hunt, I felt pretty confident that we could get on them again. My 14 and 8 year old boys accompanied me on the hunt, it was some hard, high elevation hiking and I was wondering how they would do. We were a little late getting to my intercept location that morning, the hiking took longer than I thought it would with all three of us there, although the boys did really well. Being that late on the opening day, we missed the bucks but saw a lot of deer. We were back the next day and were able to get into position. The bucks were a little farther up a ridge than I anticipated which made for a long shot. With the help of some shooting sticks and alot of luck I was able to connect on one of the four points. The terrain was so steep that he rolled and slid for several hundred yards. We quartered him up and spent the rest of the day packing him out. My boys slept about 12 hours that night, they were wore out! A great hunt that will hopefully be followed by many more.

Heres the buck me and my dad were lucky enough to get! Let me say it was a work out and we missed alot of bucks! I only had my cell phone when we shot it and it was dark so we couldnt get a good picture, but i think these do some justice

This is my 1st time posting to this forum so i hope this works but I couldn't resist showing you my '09 S. Utah muzzleloader buck. He has the makings of a crazy cactus buck as he did not have the male anatomy. I shot him at 170 yards.
