At Last... Multiple Sheds
I see all the great posts on the hunting forums where a group goes out and finds a bunch of sheds. I'm used to finding one shed per time out. It gets frustrating but it's still plenty fun when you do find one. I have a great neighbor that decided to take me, his eight-year-old duagther, and my eight year-old son, to show us how shed hunting is done. I want to say thanks to my neighbor. He's a shed hunitng stud.
As you can see by this first photo I subscribe to no shed left behind. When you're used to only finding one, even the chalkies find a way back to the truck.
Believe it or not this three point ATL is not staged. This brown three was propped on these rocks just waiting for my eight year old who saw it a split second before I did.
We figure this heavy four point was from a 4 year old or older deer with less than desireable genetics. We found the match to this shed. It was a heavy three point.
My son found the right side to this very cool old white set. Another shed hunter in our group found the chewed left side and was cool enough to give it to my son. It's hard to see detail in this pic, but my son also found the chalky remnant of what was once an awesome antler. Sure wish we would have found it ten plus yeas ago when it was a brownie. It had huge mass, at least two cheaters and a droptine at one time.
Here's a closer picture of the cool gnarly 5.5 inch bases.
As a parting shot here's all we found between Friday and Saturday. Finally I know what it feels like to find multiples on one trip. I like the feeling and hope for much more of it.
